The Case for Buying Single-Origin, Not Blends

A blend hides inconsistency. A single lot has nowhere to hide — which is exactly the point.

Blends exist to solve a real problem: consistency, at scale, across seasons. That's a legitimate goal for a lot of roasters. It's just not ours.

When you buy a single lot from us, you're tasting one farm's decisions — when they picked, how they processed, how long they dried it — with nothing to smooth it over. Some lots are stunning. Occasionally one is merely good. We'd rather show you the range honestly than average it out.

It also means the Kintamani you buy in June and the Kintamani you buy in October might taste slightly different, because the season changed. We'll always tell you when that happens.
